Albums, Singles, and Tours — Oh My!: Daniel Seavey Is In His “Second Wind” Era
by Ella Bianchi
Last week, following a cryptic countdown on his website, Why Don’t We alumnus Daniel Seavey announced his debut album Second Wind was set to release on March 7, 2025. Since Why Don’t We went on hiatus in July 2022 due to an ongoing legal battle with the record label, they signed with when the band was formed, Seavey has found success as a solo artist with the release of his EP “Dancing In The Dark,” which he showcased on Benson Boone’s Fireworks and Rollerblades tours last fall. Second Wind will feature singles “The Older You Get,” “Gateway Drug,” and “If I Ever Get To Heaven,” a tribute to Seavey’s friend Corey La Barrie, who was killed in a car accident. The album can be pre-saved here.
Seavey released the title track on January 31, 2025. Telling the story of reconnecting with a past love, “Second Wind” has potential to be the next song of the summer. It’s the perfect song for dancing around like nobody's watching—much like Seavey does in the beach-set music video—with a pulsing hi-hat beat and a simple synth melody. Coming in at just under three minutes, “Second Wind” spotlights Seavey’s unique songwriting flair and multi-instrument talent.

Fans have been begging for Seavey to hit the road again after he embarked on two tours in 2023. Lucky for them, Seavey dropped the dates of his third headline tour after teasing with even more countdowns to accompany the album announcement and single release. Seavey will start his tour in North America with coast-to-coast shows this spring before spending summer in England and Australia/New Zealand. With stops in Dallas, Toronto, Nashville, Stockholm, Brussels, and Auckland, fans across the globe will get the chance to see Seavey’s biggest tour to date.
